The bottom of the bill has a tiny hole that allows water to pass through. Real ducks catch food with the help of their bills, and this hole like part allows it to function perfectly. Using the bill of a rubber duck doesn't exactly function like an actual Duck's but it still makes for quite the bath toy!
There are enough reasons why rubber duck bills became popular bath toys. Well, for one thing they float great in water! So they are visible when performing in a bathtub. They are also pretty eye- catching and colored, which shows them stand out in alot of bubbles. Kiss the bill and it squirts water from its beak when you squeeze him. Having a quick dissolving salt bath is such an easy and playful way to turn your bath time into a super fun experience! Race your rubber duck or even make some silly water games!
Believe it or not—the rubber duck bill has been around for a long time. In fact, they are one of the oldest types of motorcycles still being made today and date back all the way to the 1800s. Back then they were solid rubber and had no holes for water to get in because of reasons. They were designed to play with just for the amusement, because they really looked quite yellow! In the 1940s, Peter Ganine invented the classic rubber duck bill. They put a hole in the bottom so water could flow through, and then painted it black and yellow. So, all the peoples of world began to play with rubber duck lips in their bath-cubicle!
Have you ever questioned why rubber ducks have such great buoyancy in water? Because they are less dense than water! This is a strange concept because rubber, itself being heavier than water normally falls below the surface but in this case, due to its special shape and combined with air inside it helps float. The air that is inside of the duck bill makes it float like a fancy word floating Also, this buoyancy (also another fun science wurd) helps keep him on top of the water level rather than sinking down. This is why, we tend to remember that our rubber duck bobs on the surface of water because it floats!
